Maren Morris appeared on The Tonight Present to carry out her latest music, “Too Good,” and to talk with host Jimmy Fallon about her new album.

Morris took the late-night present stage with an elaborate set that evoked a mountainside house, singing the tune from behind a pretend booze-covered bar alongside her band. The music sees the nation musician crooning a few relationship conundrum: “Too good to leave, too bored to stay/ That’s how the people that love me behave/ It’s too bad it’s taken me this long to say/ I was always too good for your ass anyway.”

“Too Good” seems on Morris’ new album, Dreamsicle, out now by way of Columbia Data. The LP is her fourth full-length album and her first since 2022’s Humble Quest. It options all 5 songs from her 2024 EP Intermission. She spoke to Fallon about recording the songs with producer Jack Antonoff at Electrical Woman Studios in New York Metropolis.

“I had never written or recorded in New York my entire career,” she mentioned. “It was always Nashville or LA. And then getting to work at Electric Lady was just such a time. Like, in the summer. It’s just stunning.” She added that she as soon as noticed Michael Stipe on the studio’s rooftop. “I would just see the most amazing people come in and out,” Morris mentioned.

Morris defined that the LP has a ’70s vibe as a result of she was “listening to a lot of stuff my mom would play in the house,” together with Fleetwood Mac. “So it was sort of this dance-y meets Laurel Canyon vibe,” she famous.
