Christian Horner and Toto Wolff share their views on controversial Max Verstappen/George Russell conflict at finish of Spanish Grand Prix

Horner added: “I haven’t had an opportunity to talk to Max from his facet, however clearly the stewards deemed that he induced a collision and received 10 seconds and a few penalty factors, sadly.

“It obviously was very frustrating, because it leaves us with one point [10th place] out of the afternoon, what should have been an easy podium.”

Talking in his post-race media session, with Russell winding up in fourth place, Wolff commented: “I simply heard, really, that Max had the decision to let him move, proper? I didn’t know. We have been underneath the impression within the race that he had an issue with the automotive, and that’s why he was so gradual getting out of [Turn 4].

“I imply, if it was street rage, which I can’t think about, as a result of it was too apparent, then it’s not good. However the factor is, I don’t know what he aimed for. Did he wish to let George move and instantly repass, put George the automotive forward? Then, just like the previous DRS video games, letting him move the proper approach?
