“Scattered showers, cooler air ahead across North Texas”


North Texas had a soggy morning on Thursday, with showers transferring via and robust to extreme storms hitting the west facet of the area. Scattered gentle showers within the late morning will taper off, leaving a cool and cloudy afternoon.

Extra rounds of rain and robust to extreme storms are anticipated in North Texas via Saturday morning. Hail and damaging winds would be the major risk Thursday evening. The specter of tornadoes will enhance on Friday, primarily to the northeast. Flooding may also be a priority.

The flooding risk will increase Friday with the a number of rounds of rain and storms within the forecast with some areas seeing greater than 6″ of rain.

After the rain and storms finish on Saturday, a cooler air mass will probably be left behind for the remainder of the weekend. Excessive temperatures on Sunday will keep within the higher 50s. 

Subsequent week, excessive temperatures will return to close 80° and there will probably be loads of sunshine within the forecast.
