Lizzo Addresses Cancellation, Career Backlash

For Lizzo, it doesn’t really feel good as hell to obtain backlash.

Because the Grammy winner just lately defined, whereas she’s used to being the topic of harsh criticism, she’s studying to take it with grace.

“I’ve been cancelled a lot,” she mentioned on the May 14 episode of Therapuss with Jake Shane. “I shouldn’t say I’ve been cancelled, because I’m still going, but I’ve gotten backlash a lot.”

She added, “Actually each single time I’ve acquired backlash I take advantage of it as a rising and studying lesson.”

For the “Juice” singer, her first expertise going through backlash stemmed from syncing her track “Good as Hell” to Weight Watchers after Oprah Winfrey purchased the corporate.

“It was like, ‘Oprah wants to use your song,’” Lizzo recalled. “I lost my mind. I was like, ‘Oh my god Oprah knows who I am!’ I was like, ‘Yes! Yes.’”

Although her feelings rapidly took a flip. “I remember posting the commercial because I was so proud and everybody was like, ‘You’re f–king joking right, like this is promoting eating disorders,’” she advised Jake. “And I was like, ‘Oh my god.’ It broke my heart. It truly broke my heart.”
